Optimal and automated decentralised converter control design in more electrical aircraft power electronics embedded grids

In modern power systems, the proliferation of electronics converters, and distributed generation raises important issues concerning inter-connected switching units in terms performance, stability robustness. Such phenomenon are more prominent micro-grids, such as local low voltage distribution electric aircraft systems etc., where many converters connected to same non-stiff ac grid, strongly interact with each other. Locally designed converter control on electrical bus exhibit interactive behaviour. If not taken properly into account, external disturbances system at given operating conditions may result degradation failure meet and, some cases, instability. This paper presents a new approach synthesise controllers grids (which is, however, applicable all embedded systems), keeping consideration dynamic interactions among subsystems. An optimal design based H2 optimisation is therefore proposed. Phase-locked loops have also been considered, their tuning has included general procedure whole system. Simulation, experimental results show good improvements interaction mitigation.
